The 1-port EtherCAT branch XB-EC-31 is used to decouple the EtherCAT local bus from a ctrlX I/O station. The module can be used anywhere between the ctrlX I/O modules and enables the creation of EtherCAT star topologies. By using several XB-EC-31 in one station, modular EtherCAT topologies can be implemented. The logic and peripheral power supply as well as the EtherCAT-based module communication are forwarded through the module.
