ctrlX AUTOMATION – IoT dashboard

The IoT Dashboard app is based on the open source software Grafana, which has been adapted for dashboards in the ctrlX AUTOMATION environment. Grafana™ is a registered trademark of Grafana Labs, which is not affiliated with and does not support the ctrlX CORE app.

Heatmaps, charts and histograms can be used to visualize and analyze data from different sources and applications on dynamic dashboards. For this purpose, Grafana offers a variety of plugins to directly connect common systems, such as InfluxDB.

The dashboard in the Grafana application supports multiple panels in a grid, and multiple data sources can be visualized simultaneously. In the IoT environment, one focus of the software is on displaying data from numerous time series databases for the analysis of measured values.

Using the graphical dashboards, all important information can be clearly displayed using predefined or user-defined widgets. The dashboards can be flexibly configured by the user, contain interactive functions and work dynamically.

Thanks to its own plug-in interface, Grafana collects important information from a wide variety of data sources. This data is brought together in a central location for further analysis. Numerous filter options support the user in the evaluation.

Grafana's extensive features also include a built-in alarm system that notifies the user of defined events. For example, when predefined thresholds are reached or status changes occur, notifications can be automatically sent to multiple destinations, such as email.
